Papa Benz - Special and with a unique history
More than 100 years ago, Friedrich "Papa" Benz ran a venue with a small stage at Leopoldstraße 50. Being a cabaret artist himself, he enabled various performances by Liesl Karlstadt & Karl Valentin, celebrating life in extravagance. There is a belief that Schwabing is not a place, but a state of mind, and the time of the Schwabinger Boheme is considered legendary. An iron plaque on the wall of the building pays him tribute; how regrettable it would be not to let this myth live on.
